We want you to buy Akova only if it works well for you, so we keep refunds simple and generous.
1. Which channel did you buy from?
How you get a refund depends on where you bought Akova.
If you bought from the Mac App Store
All billing and refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Request a refund through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or via your Apple account's purchase history. Apple applies its own refund rules; we cannot issue or override App Store refunds. If Apple declines and you believe there is a genuine defect, contact us at stavros.thalassinos@sthlabs.net and we will try to help.
If you bought directly from akova.app
Our voluntary money-back guarantee below applies, and refunds are processed by our merchant of record, Sold through Link, LLC (formerly Lemon Squeezy LLC), trading as "Lemon Squeezy".
2. Our 14-day money-back guarantee (direct purchases)
If Akova isn't right for you, email stavros.thalassinos@sthlabs.net within 14 days of your purchase and we'll refund you in full. You don't need a detailed reason — "it didn't work out" is enough. This is a voluntary guarantee we offer in addition to your statutory rights (see §4); it does not reduce them.
To help us improve, we'll usually ask what went wrong — but a refund is not conditional on your answer.
3. How to request a refund
Email stavros.thalassinos@sthlabs.net with:
- the email address used at purchase, and
- your order number or licence key (from your receipt).
We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and to process approved refunds within 5–10 business days to your original payment method. Once refunded, your licence key is deactivated and you must stop using the paid version.
4. Your statutory rights (EU/EEA consumers)
Independently of the guarantee above, EU/EEA consumers have rights under EU and Greek consumer law:
- Right of withdrawal: Distance purchases normally carry a 14-day right of withdrawal. Because Akova is digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, that right does not apply once delivery has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose it, confirmed to you on a durable medium (Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, Art. 16(m), as amended; in Greece, Law 2251/1994). For direct purchases that consent and acknowledgement are given through the purchase terms of our merchant of record when you check out and your download begins. Until delivery has actually begun, the statutory right is unaffected — to exercise it, email us as described in §3, giving your name and order number or licence key, and we will acknowledge your withdrawal by email without undue delay. Our voluntary 14-day guarantee gives you a refund window regardless, so you do not need to work out which one applies before contacting us.
- Legal guarantee of conformity: If the software is defective or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy under the Digital Content Directive (EU) 2019/770 and Greek law, separate from and unaffected by this policy.
Nothing in this policy limits your mandatory statutory rights.
5. When a refund may not apply
We may decline a refund where there is clear evidence of abuse — for example repeated buy-use-refund cycles, licence-key sharing or resale, chargeback fraud, or a request made long after the guarantee window with no defect. For genuine technical problems, we'd always rather fix the issue first — reach out and let us try before you ask for your money back.
